The FHWA National TIM Responder Training Program was developed with the goal of training 1 million responders nationwide with the goal of 20,777 responders to be trained in Washington State helping promote consistent training of all responders regardless of discipline in roadside incident response.

Course Types:
- In-person Responder Course (4-hour) Whenever possible, responders are encouraged to take the 4-hour, in-person training, which brings law enforcement, fire and rescue, transportation, public works, towing and recovery, public safety dispatch, medical personnel, and other incident responders together to foster relationships and engage in interactive training.
- Instructor-led Virtual Responder Course (4-hour) This training method enables responders in various locations to work together to learn and demonstrate response techniques in the virtual classroom environment with a qualified instructor.
- Train-the-Trainer Course (8 hours) Whenever possible, we encourage agencies to foster their TIM programs to ensure continuity with training and updates through the TIM Responder Train-the-Trainer (T-t-T) program which provides course participants with the knowledge and materials necessary to conduct the TIM training of TIM responders in their area or State.
- Refresher Course (1 hour) This new course offering allows responders that were trained within the last four years to refresh their TIM best practices and any changes from the older trained version of the material.

Course Location:
Please note, we would need access to a set-up that allows all attendees to view the screen and hear the sound of videos. Trainers either connect their Agency laptops or a USB Drive and/or a wireless presentation clicker.
It is recommended when selecting your course that you consider opening it up to external responder agencies (i.e. fire, DOT, Law Enforcement, Towing Industry, etc.) to allow the best learning outcomes for this multi-discipline responder training.
